Black People : SHOULD BLACKS BE CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING ??

Orisons, this is called "self-moderation" toward a Higher Standard, try it sometimes rather than namecalling... See Ya.....................................................:horse:
Higher standard of running away from actually addressing the seriously relevant theme of this thread, are they actually paying you PALEFACE CURTROLL BATTERING RAMS to patrol our websites like this?

Peace In,
WHATEVER!

Why don't you PALEFACES just jog on/leave us alone as opposed to continually interjecting/attempting to direct/control while never ever providing any even marginally useful feedback or input [like the way you're critiquing ME/EVERYTHING other than addressing the question that is the theme of this thread]?

Wouldn't we both be happier if YOU [actually gave an answer to this thread's theme as opposed to focusing on ME] were even 50% as intelligent as you think you are?

Isn't ANYONE who genuinely believes they are not programmed
graphically illustrating that their programming is COMPLETE?

Allright, so I've been pondering this since I saw it a while back and I thought maybe I should answer since the holidays have been on my mind, biking to work and seeing the signs. I was adopted by white people, so I was part of the insistence of celebration of these and other holidays.
Now I have lived out of moms house for a few years, and as I never quite saw a value (or was told one I believed associated with the holidays), I stopped celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have a little brother I buy gifts for periodically and for birthdays, but other than that I can't see a value most place in Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Both have merely become (to me) propaganda that needs to be ignored. After all, the day after Thanksgiving is Black Friday, a day that people are allowed to camp for DAYS before (when not allowed to camp for protests for the same without police interference, especially in front of a a store). And Christmas...trying to connect the symbolism, songs, and story becomes more dizzying the more I try.

The only thing worrying me about my decision that all Holidays are incredibly pointless, especially to a modern society buying dead meat and pre-cooked everything from the grocery store, is why have people always been in the practice of holidays in the first place??? Haven't we always, historically, looked for a reason to get together and do our thing?

Isn’t the subject here THANKSGIVING as opposed to Christmas/celebration of our African Brother Yeshuah’s birth [there are few indigenous blue eyed blonds as opposed to Semites in Palestine TODAY, thus how many would have been around over 2000 years ago] which though comparably commercialised isn’t as fundamentally flawed as giving thanks for the rape and pillaging in the Americas that gave birth to the USA?

Without HOLY DAYS the feudal serfs/peasants/slaves/socio-economic underclass didn’t have any breaks or thing to look forward to, has ANYTHING really changed, and isn’t it a fact that most of the employed have great difficulty getting even 3 or 4 weeks off work a year?

Haven't we always, historically, looked for a reason to get together and do our thing? TRUE, but wouldn’t our so brutally enslaved ancestors [and their tortured, mutilated and murdered siblings] rise and curse us if we even considered enthusiastically embracing THANKSGIVING for extermination of the Native Americans and our ongoing subjugation in the 21st century?

I think my point was less that we should celebrate Thanksgiving as it is shown to us in today's society, and more wondering "should we look to actively replace it, or is it worth replacing at all". Are we going to just make up a holiday for the point of holidays, or use the one that already gets most of us a few days off work.
As you pointed out, holidays traditionally have been something we look forward to after the stress of work. If we were to eliminate the incredible "work week" we all jump into after 18 years of age, then perhaps the need for holidays would be moot. The only reason I acknowledge Christmas is being allowed to take a week off of work for "Christmas Break" every December. I do this because, yes, it is one of the few breaks I get every year, and I always plan to exploit my vacation to the fullest because I am so tired from the year.

On the other hand, certainly the Native Americans weren't working like we do with these 9 hour shifts, and walking around stressed all the time because of a boss breathing down their necks (they lived here highly efficiently for such a long time), but I'm sure they had holidays too, right? And perhaps not all had to do with harvest, which is the supposed point of that "first Thanksgiving" anyway.
