Black People : Is Black Nationalism a Dead Issue?

Your previous post said that there are a lot of Black people who want to see Africans starve just for population control. I think a claim like that needs to be substantiated with evidence, but I'll try to move on.

The main point I was making is this:

If I can remove all references to it being for Blacks only (because it excludes others who could benefit) and it's still a good idea, then it didn't need to be about race in the first place.

Let's worth with your list a bit. to illustrate my view:

This still seems like a good idea to me, even though it really depends on what you mean by our own. I'm assuming that you mean just for Blacks only. I crossed it out and I still find it to be a good idea.

Some examples of programs trying to provide prenatal care to women in the U.S:

An example of a creative solution from TED to solve the incubation problem in developing countries: http://blog.ted.com/2010/07/09/fellows_friday_4/

I see no reason why they can't be supported to reach their goal of 1.5 million to take their program world wide: http://embraceglobal.org/main/involve

This is still a good idea removing all the Black Nationalism stuff. There are definitely lots of programs out there trying to do this. They're also run by all sorts of folks, but alas they don't get the support they need.

It depends on what you mean by an African centered organization here, but again I'm assuming you want it to base it on some sort of African cultural system and exclude people who fail to meet the definition of African. A support system for teens is always a great idea for a variety of reasons. Without the Black Nationalism, this still sounds like a good idea. If the Afrocentricism is a FEATURE of a program and not a selective filter for participation, then I can definitely get behind that too.

Still a good idea for all. A lot of people believe that the government should have a lot of safety nets in place for people. Socialism is somehow a dirty word in America though, go figure.

These all sound like good ideas to me. There are plenty of people trying to form community programs and they come in all shades. There's also a lot of affordable housing initiatives that try to give people a roof over their head that they won't be shamed by.

This is already a feature of politics on almost every level. If people want to form groups to support candidates, policies, or boycott specific parties/party members, I'm cool with that. I think the bigger commonality can be found without race.

No problem with this one. A lot of people are in support of moving away from consumerism and going back to a state where the Home was the center of production. It goes by a lot of names these days (homesteading, urban gardening, etc). Some of them take it a step further than you do here and want to include clothing, furniture, etc.

The community food storing sounds like a particularly good idea. What have you done to try and get a program like that started?

A lot of groups already try to do this in America. There's likely one in your state or local community. If not, why not look for a larger group and try to start a chapter?

This sounds like something that should be for everyone and public services try to provide that. Why not support nationalized healthcare?

This is the only one on the list that has an acceptable African label that doesn't need any modification to me. There are a number of ways to do this now (Kiva is one example if you're into micro-lending). I hope anyone who wants to invest in African mineral wealth also supports policies and initiatives that are trying hard to clean up the shady side of it.

You could substitute African and precious metals for a number of combinations and I would still think they were great ideas. If a person is interested in helping Africa though, that alone is a good idea. To me this is a far different idea when compared to the various mantras of members of the diaspora only caring for fellow members and no one else.
So basicly you simply agreed with every thing stated and no those organizations do not exist to service not even 10 million Black folks in this nation and as you well know the few you mention have been on the chopping block long before the present deficit talks

Nope, but more importantly: You feel these efforts aren't worth it because they don't service enough people or that some of them are endanger of being cut by the government?

Now that the Black community is under attack from infancy to geriatric,
and that now we have the funds, the technological communications availability,to

1 create our own prenatal care
2 unify to have a Black education tutorial and enrichment program for inner city youth
3 African centered organiztions for and by teens, that would provide the brotherly love and support they now seek in gangs
4 collective black economi safety nets and job creation
5 community development ,renewal and regentrification prevention
6 Black collective voting strategies, collective candidate support or boycott
7 self sufficiency eucation, hunting, fishing, foraging community food gargdening and block by block food storage and pantries
8 community patrol of our communities
9 elderly support visitation, pharmacy and ambulatory assistance
10 collective investment in African industry and precious metals

Whew. That's asking alot.

There are organizations that exist that do attempt to acomplish some of these goals. But again, they may be at odds with each other on how to achieve the end. To find total and unbreaking cohesion in methodolgy and ideology is just not reality. History has proven that. We are not a monolith.

No one individual, no organization can do all things.

I still believe it comes back to the individual. If our individual thoughts carry these concepts, then we will most likely act in appropriate ways to assist the various organizations that exist.

there are alot of Black folks that hope children in Africa starve to death to reduce the population but you are free to explain your stance

Why do you make claims like this. Now as I did before,I'm going to ask you for proof. So please show some kind of proof to back this claim up. I know our race has problems but I have never heard any black in all my life.
