My are on the arts and culture level

I have a lot, but just off the top of my head, I like the movie Temptations, and Buck and the Preacher, both Harry Belafonte and Sidney Poitier were so so handsome in the film, Oh my Gosh. the actor that played Ruffin was so awesome. I like the movie Friday, the first one, Chris Tucker was so funny. I love the movie Are we There Yet, with Ice Cube, those kids were so, so, so, cute. Even though it may not be considered a Black Movie perhaps because of the producers, but I love to watch the late Henry Cele in the Movie Shaka Zulu, he was so ript, Man Oh Man! I also like the movie 'Rain'. The Movie Roots gives my mixed emotions, but it really opened the door for me to look behind Movies to read books to get the real truth. I met the late Alex Haley and he autographed my program booklet, it was one of the best feelings of my life. i read his book 4 times and it moved me everytime.

I have mixed emotions about the movie, Glory, but it was an eye opener,Denzel Washington, Man, he's gorgeous. I love to watch Alfre Woodard, she's one of my favorite actresses. I loved her in 'the Wishing Tree' as she played with that really handsome man, [can't remember his name] but he's real cute. i love the old film Stir Crazy, even though i do have mixed emotions, it's not far from the hurtful truth. I like to watch Whoopi Goldberg too, alot, but i don't always agree with some of the roles that she plays, but I think she is attractive.I like to watch her in Sister Act. She is so funny. I don't like some of the films Tyler Perry puts out, but his films are funny. I didn't think I would like Neighbors from hell, but I that that it hits on some issues of today, and the lead actress, Gosh, she is so pretty. i love the movie Pursuit of Happiness with Will Smith, but the true story is a little different.

I like the older black movies I use to go see with my grandmother. Buck and the Preacher, Tomasina and Bushrod, anything that had Fred Williamson, Pam Grier or Jim Brown. More currently movies, A Soldier Story and Glory. Set it Off too.

Good morning and hello again...

I started this thread to allow all of you to share your feelings/thoughts/etc. about the black films you've seen, as well as which ones did or do reflect your own life experiences etc

How do you see us and what are you basing it on?

This inquiring mind needs and wants answer to those questions...

Ok?

Thanks!
