WHites like that were the exception, not the rule.

allow me to pull rank on you.
born in 1942, in 1965 i was fighting the struggle along with black people, white people and some yellow people.
whites like the weathermen were THE RULE where i was.
they were NOT the exception.
whites made important contributions to the black struggle.
some gave their lives.
this is a cold blooded fact.
no matter what you may think of whites today you can not rewrite history.

i don't think i am trying to rewrite history.

it's true the struggle was against white oppression.
it's also true that many whites fought against other whites on the side of black people.

i think our present cause should be based on truth.
