Hello....
I'm brand new here, and hoping it is ok. I'm of that paler ethnicity, older, widowed and the life changes that then followed so unexpectedly. Out of that, my very dearest friends are African, a family from the Ivory Coast, and a dear Catholic nun from Uganda. My life and my outlook changed because of them.
In the process of all this, I also joined a black singles group. That was around 2004. I wasn't sure I would be welcomed there. And it had it's initial, and understandable moments. And new and wonderful friendships come out of it. I also joined a black church. Began work on an MA degree at a black university.
Everything changed. It has been eye-opening and enlightening. And enriching.
I'm a journalist and writer by background. And all that has happened is the way my journey has turned out. And with no regrets. Not sure what I can contribute here, but hope I can...and learn from it, and be engaged in it.
With kind regards....
