Black Poetry : Waiting to Exhale...

I want to applaud you because this peace...
without peace...is so moving and real...
so poignant and yet so incredible...
that my emotions, as is the words that pour...
Are a bittersweet melody that plays incessantly...
A beginning...that ends...
and an ending...that wants to begin...again...

My sister...My sister...My sister...smh
Your writing is to real for words...
You've sunk my heart...with your flow

...At the bottom of an ocean, "blue"

A gift unopened
a dream not obtained
a story in it's final chapter,
yet who done it, yet unnamed
A question left unanswered
a wish not yet granted
a syllable of the word given
only to find its been recanted
A scene of the movie played
a hint of mystery is fine at first
but a sip can no longer sustain
a soul that's dying of thirst
Nor can a morsel be adequate
when a feast is being prepared
this is not quite what one expected
when the other said they cared
I've held my breath for so long
I was totally unaware
of when I ran out of air
As I sit here wondering about the
happily ever after portion of this tale
I look to you for resuscitation
breathlessly waiting to exhale
