~dedicated to a beautiful man who works security at my office...mourning the loss of his 19 year old grandson...shot in South Central LA...wrong place, wrong time~

You share your
smiles with me
every day God sends

You say you miss
me when I don’t
come in to work
( I don’t think
you’ve ever missed
a day)

You remind me
to bring my coat
tomorrow
“cause it’s gonna
be cold, lil lady”

You scold me
if I’m not
wearing my
gloves

and you
always
say you’re
gonna steal
that hat
I wear….

You escort
all the ladies
to their cars
when it’s
dark outside

You’re here
before I arrive
and stay
long after
we’re all gone

you handle bidness
when the clients
get crazy

something about
your firm but gentle
ways
just calms
everybody down

you don’t play

you take care
& watch over us
in so many ways
throughout our
business day

I just wish you
could have been
there to protect
your grandson
when they rolled
up on him

last night

and took his life
