Peace and Blessings Sister,

I listened to your audio presentation, and i'm not personally compelled to speak on such matters, no matter if it is women or men doing what you call "exploitation."

I suppose this is because, even when men do it, and i'm speaking specificially about creating, promoting, and selling video of women scantilly clad or naked ... the women sign up for this. So it's not exactly exploitation i don't think. It's women choosing to be a part of this lifestyle. Even strippers, prostitutes, all of that, volunteer for this in many cases. It would be my hope that they are all of legal age, able to weigh the pros and cons, then choose.

I agree that it doesn't look good for us collectively, when Sisters present themselves in this light, but hopefully they are getting something out of it, that makes it worth their while. I don't take their actions upon my heart, as though it is me doing it, or my people collectively.

We can't really legislate morality, or what we think the defnition of morality is, amongst grown men and women.

All we can do as individuals, is not portray the same image, provide a different image, counter to that one.

I didn't get a chance to listen to your other audios, as i had hoped, but i scanned some of the responses. From what i gathered based on them, i think what i'm about to say, can apply to that thread, as well as this one.

We have to begin creating our own positive images of our selves. Some will want to do this, and some won't. Some will choose to go to the place where Black Men and Women are denigrated, disrespected, and demeaned, and some will want to come to places where we are lifted up. We just have to try and provide these alternative options.

That's what this community is about. You will be hard-pressed to find mean, disparaging, demeaning commentary about Black Women or Men in general, here. Likewise, you won't find any naked, scantilly-clad women baring themselves to the world.

That's what i'm moved to do. That's my voice on such topics, my own actions, as i have no control over others.

I admire your desire to speak on this, attempt to change it, etc., and encourage you to keep up the good work.

Thanks for the reply sister Destee! I don't think we can legislate morality either, but I'm always hearing from women how men do this or that to amke black women look bad, and its never addressed that we sometimes as women prove our own worst enemy. Like just now before clicking onto this thread to read your reply, I saw an image with a sister, butt reaered to the heavens with a message at the bottome of her video "looking for a good man" Okay, I don't think that's the way to find him.

I agree, but then that stands to question why on earth is there such an uproar when men do it. Why do we feel just becuase of gender the party involved that it's some how more damging then when women engage in this behavior? Why is it when men put these images out, all of a sudden they're talking about all of use as a whole? Personally, I've never felt as if these men were /are referring to me when they sing, rap, make video , porn ect. So I've never really been bothered , but when I hear black women getting angry because a man does this while staying silent, ignoring the video the women post, then it leads me to question this.
