  • I was on the mailing list of the BLACK SCIENCE FICTION SOCIETY'S website..(.Lost an email to spanner's b. s. Might check it all again anyway)....A suggestion...FYI...
Then, too: Today's black sf devotees turned creators/illustrators/writers/etc. should be coming up with their own stuff, not recycling everybody else's, aka the 'new and improved' takes on white characters, etc. Otavia Butler created her own...She did break new ground....Others need to do likewise....FYI...
It was and is the bigotry and racism among the status quo of those other folk that keeps this a 'us' vs 'them reality...Now contrast that with those whites etc. who voted for Obama...Not their fault if he's fallen short of their expectations etc. FYI...
Consider (if you will) how in spite of the usual white hype about Star Trek, it wasn't until those spinoffs black actors/actresses/etc. played more than token characters....One needs warp drives to get from TOS to THE NEXT GENERATION...Whereas poor Wolf was more of the same...Until 'The Sisko' and your beloved Tuvok...It's Romney not Obama who is playing his 'race' card...FYI...

I hated the revisionist take on the mirror universe....

    Too convenient....

    Phaser on stun...

And do tell me more about you...

I'm a mix from way back when...

It's just that the black looking ones did give as good as they got...

Something just took the fight out of them (and many of our own)....

Or at least that's what it seems like on the surface...

    FYI...

I'm not claiming those updates didn't or don't have their moments...

Though a less by the book/more guts and glory take on Star Trek would be a relief!

Everything else has tended to be a borefest (or a cop out)!

    Corporate 'politics' ...

I knew or know some of Trek's past or present mainstays...

    It was fun...

    My life goes on...

    One to beam out...

    K'huck...

    Quapla...

    My fantasy trip:

Robert Duvall as a Roluman Commander:

All Pacino as a Romulan Solider...

Robert Dinero as a Klingon Warrior...

    FYI...
