As we look around today, we see a group of socalled black men and women doing things our past leaders did not die for.

Can you do drugs and claim to be a black man or woman?

Can you not become educated or not push your children to do so and claim to be a black man or woman?

Can you let your pants sag or wear hoochey clothes and claim to be a black man or woman?

Can you not vote and claim to be a black man or woman?

Can you sell drugs and claim to be a black man or woman?

We all know many in our family, friends and aquaintences that are doing one or more of the above. Many that read this are doing them as well. How can we then claim to honor the teachings of of them that died for us and not come close to following? If we are doing these things shouldnt it then be ok to call us anything but black?

IN MY HOME , I HAVE 32 PICTURES OF BLACK PEOPLE ON MY WALLS....

ROSA PARKS , MARTIN LUTHER KING , MALCOLM X , HUEY P. NEWTON & BOBBY SEALE ARE INDEED AMONG THEM....

I BUY T-SHIRTS WITH THEIR PICTURES ON THEM ALL YEAR LONG AND I WEAR THEM EACH SATURDAY REGARDLESS OF MY ACTIVITIES....(unless im attending a funeral)....

WHENEVER I SEE A YOUNG BROTHER WALKING WITH HIS HEAD DOWN I STOP RIGHT THERE AND REMIND HIM OF HOW MARTIN LUTHER KING AND OTHER BLACK MEN WENT TO JAIL WITH THEIR HEADS UP....FACED WITH MUCH WORSE THAN WHATEVER REASON HIS HEAD IS DOWN....

I TELL HIM NO MATTER WHAT IT IS HE VALUES.....ALWAYS WALK WITH HIS HEAD UP......SO HE CAN AT LEAST PARTIALLY SEE WHERE HE WANTS TO OR SHOULD GO.....

I HAVE BEEN CRITICIZED FOR THIS , BY MY WOMAN AND CLOSE FRIENDS & RELATIVES , AND SOMETIMES BY THE YOUNG BROTHER . BUT I KNOW THAT BEFORE THE SUN GOES DOWN THAT DAY , HE WILL GIVE SOME KIND OF THOUGHT AS TO WHAT JUST HAPPENED....AND TO ME , ITS WORTH IT .

I KNOW ITS NOT ENOUGH , BUT I KNOW ITS BETTER THAN PASSING JUDGEMENT , AS I DRIVE BY.....

Define "Honor"

I don't think anyone honors anyone nowadays. Even if your getting a paid holiday for it.

What is the definition of honor in this aspect?

Is a better word respect? Marcus, Malcolm, Elijah, Rosa Parks did and taught things that was relevent to that time. Even though alot of their works and teachings still hold true and have divine meaning the time is now and not the past and we should be more focused on what is happening today. Actually the government wants us to keep focusing on the people mentioned. This is part of a death ritual that we are trapped in.
We want to respect these elders by building on what they help build and learn the teachings that is in front of us now which was less available in the past because of the people's unreadiness. If there is too much continued energy on the past there will be no more improvement in consciousness or your life but you will go back to a mental experience of those past times. The most beastful folks wouldnt want to relive slavery.
Our ancestors are alive now but are just in other bodies than what they were.
We are the ancestors. We can meditate on the ancestors and their energies as they lived before or draw energy from our collectiveness thats here in the present.
There is a thin line between accepting energy of a person of the past and everything else that was happening in that past along with it.
