    Terrance Parker said the school
hassled him and didn’t leave him a choice. Parker said he yanked his 7-year-old daughter, Tiana, out of classes because of a disagreement that left her in tears.
Parker, who’s a barber, said school officials at Deborah Brown told him Tiana’s hair didn’t look presentable. “She’s always presentable. I take pride in my kids looking nice,” said Parker.
The charter school has its own set of rules. While no one at the school agreed to speak with us on camera, administrator, Millard Jones told FOX23 that Terrance Parker was fully aware what was expected. However, for his young daughter, it just hurts. “They didn’t like my dreads,” said Tiana.
The school feels that could distract from the respectful and serious atmosphere it strives for.

    Tiana, a straight A student

, wears a different school uniform now, but the same hair style, which looks perfectly fine according to her new school.

No! They are B slapping a race of people to see if we will nationally unite to protect all of our children!

This is the what....tenth article of a child being banned form a school cause of what??? Afro puff one time, braids another, now dread locks!

They shoot and kill out kids , roll them up in gym mats then tell the parents jive stories, expel them for science projects, and we still see no need for a national protection fro our children??

They would not have thought about doing this when we were not soft!

How long children been going to school with dreads and no problem braids? Afros?

And now all of a sudden that they want us to bow down like we still butlers and maids they pull this crap!!!!

No...because their are some hair styles that do draw attention, but dreds is not one of them. IMO, this is an effort to make us conform to a white standard. When my daughter was modeling, her agent told her she had to take our her braids. He said that clients tend not to hire kids with braids. We all know what this means, which is why one day I hope to see us with our own schools.

    Peace!

I used to say that Americans, of ALL races, don't care about children. Then, when I saw the video of the little Chinese toddler being hit and run by a motorist and a half dozen or more passersby walking around her tiny, broken body like she was so much trash, I realized it's a human "so long as it ain't my kid" adult thang.

That said, if the rule is No Dreads and pops was aware, he is at infinitely MORE fault for his daughter's tears than nappy-haired sista-girl principal. To "protect" means to be forearmed against a threat. He knew the threat. He, and ONLY he decided to either "test" or flaunt the rules. Shorn of his "protection" and sent trusting in her daddy's judgment into an environment hostile to dreadlocks, his innocent, sweet child paid the price.
