He hasn't stopped
consuming this
unsavory broth
of a lover's chaos
but his heart won't
let him stop eating

Sipping the same
soup warmed over
night after night
promises him
a bowl full
of dissolution

There's pain in a dish
that somehow turned
ridiculous pudding
...with only the
midnight moon
to spoon him
