HOMER AND ATON
The Egyptians assert that Homer visited Egypt. I think its true because he states verses that are similar to some hymns to Aton worshippers.
“O sun of day, the fear of every distant land,
Thou makest their life
Thou hast set a Nile in heaven
That it may fall for them”-The life and times of Akhnaton by Weigall p.133
“When the young Dawn (Sun) showed again…
We dragged the ship down into the bright water…
Back to where Egypt is, the sky-fallen (Nile) river”-The Odyssey 4:580
Some contact direct or indirect Homer must have had with Egyptian mythology that the Nile had fallen from heaven.
