Hello my dear, I just wanted to call
To hear your voice and listen to your smile
Matching the picture that hangs on my wall

It's so very easy talking with you
Our conversations always seem brand new
We talk of life and what it puts us through

I dialed your number hoping you were home
Talking to you always brightens my day
Even if it's over the telephone

Please forgive me if this call disturbed you
It's hard to remember I share your time
I'll call again later when you are through

If your machine lets me know you're not home
I'll just say I love you after the tone
