really some nice messages in this loving this and the minister came on strong
Yes, brutha was on point with everything he said.
"You rape our women, but kill us for looking at yours"....
This piece shows the confounding nature of many whites. They left us to fin for ourselves, and when we did....AKA Black Wall Street... they just could handle the truth that we had achieved a level of living that many of them didn't have.
Garvey said it best:
"Up, you mighty race, accomplish what you will"
but you kinda trapped yourself here you told me that this site is for poetry this is not poetry you can't be two face to folks pushing your stuff lout there and telling others what they can do hey mod you wrong for posting this truly not poetry feel me
Trapped myself...not in the least bit, but you've fallen into yours.
This is poetry, and I didn't say site, I said forum. IMo, you two were beefin, beefin leads to fratricide. It put a pall over a forum that was created to showcase creativity. You can engage in your vocal javelin, all I asked is that it was done by the rules which it wasn't. And because it wasn't I suggested that you two take it private. I know how it is when you have something on your chest that you gotta get off. But there is a time and place for everything, and this forum is not the place for settling gripes.
Here's sumtin for your edification: You say that this video isn't poetry, well maybe you don't know what poetry is. Just because a person can change a tire doesn't make them a mechanic, it just means they know something pertaining to a larger picture.
Poetry is a form of literature that uses aesthetic and rhythmic qualities of language—such as phonaesthetics, sound symbolism, and metre—to evoke meanings in addition to, or in place of, the prosaic ostensible meaning.
1) Is the video a form of literature? No, it is a vehicle that is used to present it to you.
2) Is there rhythmic qualities of language? Yes, it's replete with it.
3) Does it evoke meanings? Yes, for example, "you rape our women but kill us for looking at yours"
Sounds like poetry to me.
NAW YOU KNOW BETTER THAN COMING LIKE THAT NOW WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF EFFECTIVE WRITING NO MATTER HOW YOU SLICE IT THIS IS NOT POETRY IN THE LEAST
Ah bruha...why you wanna fuel my addiction and step to me like dis? Can't you tell that no one on here is your average bear? Inna'lectual subjugation is my thang
So what I will suggest is that ...you....look it up, then get back with me because it's obvious that you've used the term because you heard some one else say it.
Nall...I'm going to do what whomever you heard that from didn't do, and that is explain what "effective writing" is.
OK...did you get that?
If you did, then you understand what effective writing is.
Naw, that was too deep..I know so I'll just tell you. Effective writing allows the reader (you) to thoroughly understand everything you (Enki) are saying.
So were you able to understand everything what the brutha was saying in the vid? If so, then your question is null and void.
OK, last attempt to enlighten you my brutha, then I'm done with this diatribe that I know you are ankle deep in a subject that will drown you, and you are defining as being narrow. But in reality it's broad, far, and subterranean

Black Phoenix , have you seen this vid (op) before?
Good stuff bro. Enki, don't know how I missed it, but I'm not in the Poetry Forums a lot lately, maybe that's why.
