(Paris High School Principal Gary Preston and PISD Police Officer Joey McCarthy)

Paris Independent School District followed a new public school trend by hiring its own police force in October of 2013. The District insisted that this move was about safety and would have nothing to do with discipline.

On February 24, 2014 Paris High School senior Joquan Wallace asked his last period teacher if he could use the restroom. He was given permission. What happened next borders on bizarre.

According to Joquan, he used the restroom farthest away from his classroom. He said the restroom he used was the least used. Joquan stated that he heard someone come into the restroom and leave out. He said that when he left the restroom, PISD Police Officer Joey McCarthy was standing outside the door waiting on him.

The school jock and good student who has never been in trouble said that the paid cop asked him why he was using the bathroom ( ), and followed him back to his classroom when he told him he said he wanted to do #2. Later, paid cop brought the principal back to the classroom who called Joquan out. He went into the hall and was manhandled, handcuffed and arrested. He won't be able to graduate with his class in June and he faces felony charges.

There are bruises on Joquan, a "small" fellow, but none on the big, burly cop or principal who deny they attacked him. Students who saw the altercation say Joquan neither struck the cop nor cursed at the principal (as he alleges) and told of him being put in a headlock, slammed against a wall, thrown half-way over a bannister and handcuffed.

Now I know Paris, TX has a baaaaad history with messing with its black citizens, but man! It's like one of the kids said - from the schoolroom to the jailhouse?

... :wow:

When I posted this, I immediately thought of a post I wrote about white men wanting to beat up black women and children, giving my experience of a big florid-faced bruiser leaning out his window saying: "I will beat you!" when I refused to let him cut in front of me in traffic the third of three times (I allowed it the first 2 times). This is our life. We are so accustomed to violence from white people we don't even think about it as violence. Had this child not been arrested and brought up on FELONY charges, no one would have thought twice about a black boy being harassed for "going to the bathroom."

I repeat: THIS IS OUR LIFE! Violence and harassment from randumb white people is the price for being black and living in America.

How do you mean? Can you explain more on this?

And what's with caucasians screaming out of their cars windows just to harass us? There are those who do that here JUST to call any black they drive pass a "n!66er".

Yeah, Paris Tx have a lot of racists there, a black man was dragged to death by some white guys in a truck a few years ago. Texas is one of the most backward states in the union with some of the most poor white people you have ever seen. Texas Republican politicians use white resentment towards minorities to get out the vote. Republicans use the narrative that blacks and Hispanics are gaining at white people's expense. I can't turn on AM radio I would have headaches all the time listening to the hate that's preached constantly in Texas. Thanks for sports radio and Sirius Radio where I can find normal decent thinking people broadcasting common sense instead of hate and race baiting.
