Black People Politics : Black pastor stirs controversy ahead of Obama’s Morehouse commencement speech

Ok. Y'all might be right... Oh and btw Y'all... is a southern contraction of "You all" not ebonics....

Y'all is a black-coined term and it's NOT Standard English. Ergo, ebonics. :)

Let me see what this President has done for the Black community by way of making the country prosper....

I think folks were talking about what has he done for black people, not "the country", but if you insist....

Yes, I know that the DOW, Nasdaq, and the S&P 500 keeps chugging along at a record pace, that unemployment has been on a steady decline, and that the budget deficit is shrinking much faster than we expected; that home prices are rising, and, that according to the Fed Chairman, the economy is looking up.

I know that he has overhauled the food safety system, expanded the children's healthinsurance program (CHIP), advanced women's rights in the work place, and ended don't ask don't tell in the military. And I know that he has increased funding for veterans, and reversed the torture policies of the previous president.

I know that he appointed two pro life women to the Supreme Court, signed into law a fair pay in the workplace bill for women, and that he passed the hate crimes bill and the fair sentencing act as well.

I am familiar with his Obamacare (health care reform after five presidents failed), which, among other things, ended the practice of medical insurance companies denying medical claims for pre-existing medical conditions, and the fact that he signed an executive order which called for tougher emissions controls on automobiles.

Then there is that Osama Bin Laden fellow; I think he killed him (not to mention many of his top lieutenants) , ended the war in Iraq as promised , and that he is withdrawing the troops in Afghanistan.

I also know that he bailed out and turned around the auto industry, and that he passed the stimulus plan when the country was on the brink of a total financial disaster. Oh, and he also recapitalized the banking system, kicked banks out of the federal student loan program, and expanded Pell Grant spending.

Now tell us what he's done for the subject of this thread: black people.

So what EXACTLY are y'all looking for? Rib Discounts?

No, oh disdainful one. Black people. What has he done for black people, specificially. You know, like him sending the Justice Dpt. as friend of the court on behalf of gays in Cali's prop 8. Or, "The Dream Act" he conceived of and pushed for illegal youth (who, unlike the ignored black constituency, aren't even citizens, no?)

New whips for everyone? Free Jordans? A Block party for every street? Beyonce singing at your birthday party? What?

For black people to stop acting like booty-calls, politically.
And as far as him telling young men to be the best people they can be to their families and partners? How dare He!!!!! I have not the slightest problem with that.

Of course you don't. Booty calls are willing, indeed eager, for any crumbs of affection from the man married to "the country."

:10500: why the emotional level of the attack toward any one who dares to question obama? that is telling.
if you have facts on your side you do not need emotion.

:10500: where did we get this group of black people afraid even to speak the devils name?

and you also know that black unemployment remains over TWICE that of whites?
you do know that the stock market means NOTHING for the working person?

as to what i am looking for from obama is the acknowledgement that there is systemic racism in place affecting the black community.

do you also deny that fact?

These are the facts, which cannot be glossed over and given to President Obama to solve with a magic wand:

"To President Obama's credit, he's certainly focused on early childhood education," Austin said.
It's not that black workers don't attempt the same sort of job assists within their own networks, said Deirdre Royster, an economic sociologist at New York University and author of Race and the Invisible Hand: How White Networks Exclude Black Men From Blue Collar Jobs.
African Americans ask neighbors, significant others, the significant others of neighbors, relatives and friends about open jobs, too. But since black unemployment rates were far higher than white rates before, during and after the recession, the number of people in a typical black social network who are in a position to help is far more limited.
According to Royster, there's an additional twist: When blacks are aware of a job, they describe the job, the boss, the company and its preferences and needs. Then they follow up with a warning.
"They give the person looking for a job all sorts of information and then they say, 'But don't tell them I sent you,'" said Royster.
Black workers are aware of something that researchers are still trying to explain: White bosses often worry, lack of statistical evidence aside, that black workers are more likely to sue them or band together in the workplace and try to change things, Royster said. That seems all the more likely if the black workers already know one another, she said. And many white hiring managers still assume, consciously or unconsciously, that black workers bring undesirable workplace habits and qualities, Royster said.

Is that the absolute best you can do? You should be ashamed jamesfrmphilly, real facts were presented upon your asking, and all you can do is serve up ridiculous and unless innuendo. Mr. Obama has nothing to do with the below nor can he reverse the effects thereof:
