...It’s clear he knows the word is loaded, in its mildest implication, Merriam-Webster defines it as a belief system “placing primary emphasis on promotion of its culture and interests as opposed to those of other nations.” But it’s been prominently used by white supremacists in recent years to emphasize that some countries or regions should be defined by a white racial identity ― a trend Trump is well aware of given the rise of news about the ideology during his presidency.

Somehow this guy doesn't resemble a white man. But he claims to be a nationalist...

When I was in college the professors traded out the word "patriot" for "Nationalist." A patriot to the Socialist/Communistic professors means somebody who is loyal to their county to defend it's borders, and in our case the Constitution as written. It also speaks of love and gratitude for what we have today in spite of those things that still need to be on watch for improvement.

The Constitution will always need living up to. It is better than what the nation's people have been in ways historically, and now today it is better than what the Socialist/Communists as citizens want to do with this country. They are still tied down by our Constitution until they can begin to alter it. Senator Feinstein says that our Constitution should be managed, changed to reflect our age of politics. So that tells you what the rest of her troop agrees with.

The term Nationalist is a word academia prefers and a thousand, thousand students or more use it, unfortunately. It is the millennial popular word streaming. The professors are changing words to more generic words to break emotional bonds of the people so they have a easier long term goal to slip out individual liberty for Socialism first then Communism follows with skipping and song.
