THE NT MYSTERY OF THE BOASTING MAN

By Andre Austin

A high charge of boasting is leveled against an unnamed person the trio team of James, Jude and 2 Peter. An obscure false teacher named Theudas is accused of Boasting but Paul is the only person who admits to boasting 2 Cor 11:17. So here are the boasting charges and I will name the unnamed culprit latter:

FROM JAMES

1. “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasting great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindled (James 3:5). Please note that Paul names means “Tiny” (little) which was a joke about Paul’s castration.Paul was a composite figure that included Hermes/Thoth the Tongue of God from which James satire of Paul as "Tongue of Fire".

2. In conjunction with James talks about thing boasting Tongue is in need of a reign, bit and bridle to tame it from cursing the law of Moses (James 3:1-12). James is incorporating the image of a misunderstanding horse/mule in need of a bridle or bit in Psalm 32:9 & Proverbs 26 for an underserved curse.

3. Boasting & bragging is evil about money (James 4:16).

4. James also talks about the weather without rain and crops like 2 Peter

James is concerned about this person who trumps Faith over the Law of Moses instead of combing the two together. James has hope that this person can be turned back those wandering from truth in their error.

FROM 2 Peter Chapter 2

1. Peter reports on those who wander off from the truth with “Empty Boastful words”. They are beast who do not understand (Donkey or Mule see Psalm 32:9). They follow Balaam in error and are rebuked by a Donkey. They have turn their backs on the truth. They are springs without water and mists driven by storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them. Peter ends chapter 2 by citing Proverbs 26:11 about a dog returning back to vomit and those washed going back into mud. The context of Proverbs 26 is about a person who gives an “undeserved curse” will be like a whip for a Horse, Halter for a donkey and rod for the fool. This fits Paul cursing the law of Moses (Galatians 3:13-14).

From Jude

1. “They boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage” (Jude verse 16). Paul admits that he boast but not for himself and that he lets nobody take abusive advantage of himself (see 2 Cor 11:16-20).

2. Jude equates this Boaster as not understanding/unreasonable animal (Donkey/Mule) in Jude verse 10.

3. They are wandering stars like James said with the star left out the star.

4. Like 2 Peter they are driven by a storm blown by wind tree’s without fruit and uprooted is an innuendo towards a Person’s castration. Jude also talks about no rain.

5. They are into feast like 2 Peter reports who also feed themselves like wolves who hunt at night and feed in the morning with mouths foaming up like Venus=Evening/Morning star.

Its plain to see that St. James, 2 Peter and Jude were roasting St. Paul as a horse, Donkey and mule for cursing the Law of Moses. Later on the book of Revelations chapter 6 would lampoon Paul as the Black horse with famine.
