    Knowledge is Power

    KIPP LA Schools
Knowledge Is Power Program in Los Angeles
KIPP LA Schools operates three free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public charter schools. Our schools, which serve elementary and middle school students in East and South Los Angeles, are part of the national KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program) network. KIPP schools are dedicated to preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life.

KIPP LA schools feature a “no shortcuts, no excuses” philosophy and a strong culture of achievement. Our extended school day, week, and year enable us to provide our students a well-rounded education, with sufficient time dedicated to academics, the arts, enrichment, and having fun. At each school outstanding, committed educators give students the support and motivation they need to excel at KIPP LA and beyond.

KIPP schools are gaining national recognition for their successful approach to educating students from under-resourced communities. Nationally, more than 90 percent of KIPP middle school students have gone on to college-preparatory high schools, and more than 80 percent of KIPP alumni have gone on to college.

the color of sucess abid us all by knowledge we give and recieve,
that let us know we are wisdomize people and can achieve goals,
when in safe environmental places to learn.

It seems that there really is a lack of interest and concern for what our youth are achieving and doing right.

These are the same who then ask what's wrong with our youth.

These are the same who have nothing to show for all of their TALK except for a trail of self-aggrandizement and self-promoting "questions" to draw attention to their individual concerns but no real concern for our collective reality and responsibilities.

These are the same who preach about Malcolm but have built nothing yet criticize those who are BUILDING from the ground up.

Malcolm X listed EDUCATION as one of the priorities of the OAAU but where are the programs and institutions to EDUCATE our youth.

I have listed a few but what are folks doing in other areas of the country, that is what I would like to know and hear about.

Then perhaps we can BUILD PARTNERSHIPS between our institutions to dispell these false notions that Black people will NEVER success and that something is wrong with our youth.

The only thing wrong with us is the older folks who do NOTHING more than run their mouths!

I agree we have been talking the talk but no one walks the walk
our youth today are making major progressive change but need
a bit more to learn and it seem like we are turning our backs,
most of the country is doing what most of us doing Nothing !

you right I hear a lot but don't see much done ........

So it ain't our youth with the problem it's the elders who forgotten
they the future of us all and we better start taken notice.
