Sing:
"Love is a long time coming
And some love is worth waiting for
You may wake up one morning, and love will be gone
But is love ever worth dying for?"

The night comes with the silent drums
I knew even as I hid among the shadows
The moonlight strikes the concrete where the red ribbons unfurl
I saw them float from your temple
As you were suspended in the night air for one moment
Before crashing through the heavens and touching the pavement
With a lifeless grace
The orange sparks danced in showers around you
Your lips kissed the smoky sulfur air
The dark seas in your eyes
Began to calm and I swam with you
Trying desperately to tug you to the shores of safety
But you released your hold on the transparent blackness of night
Sliding your fingers over the cold currents
Washing the backs of your eyes in a tide
That demanded your surrender
I swallowed air as the last gasp escaped your chest
I would breathe for you
Then you would live again
The salt stung my eyes
As the silent drums thudded in my ears
A red haze settles over the gray wetness under flickering streetlights
This awful noise fills my head
I am holding this last breathe inside to fill your lungs with life
But it wants to explode into the atmosphere
I must not betray you in the haven of my hiding place
My heart beat slows as I blow puffs of smoke in to the frigid air
The night comes with silent drums
Da-dum, da-dum, da-dum
The rhythm dances in my chest
Da-dum-da-dum, da-dum
This was the song of our last dance
Da-dum, da-dum, da-dum
But the staccato beat grew frenzied
Pierced with irritating bubbles bursting in my head
Ping, ping, ping, ping
I saw you waving at me
As I extended my hand to you
You loved me and we would dance together
For all eternity
So I swayed to the happy, soft melody
The cotton candy pink comfort inside
No bitter salty taste left to cling to my tongue
The pretty red ribbons unfurled from your temples
As the silent drums exploded into dark rhythms
Bam, bam, bam
You swayed with me and suddenly you were still
So perfectly silhouetted against the midnight blue
Kissing the sulfur phantoms
That encircled us
Admiring the way the orange sparks struck lightening in your eyes
I felt the breath rush from your lips and disappear
I was with you and I swallowed so you could breathe again
I loved you…. I loved you…..I loved you
The red haze creeps over my face and now the shadows
Become men with blazing lights in their hands
I could not hold the last breathe
I am so sorry
Please forgive me
I have betrayed our safe place
Now I know as you lay in the angelic whites these strangers have draped over you
That you will never breathe again
I feel the cold click of metal on my wrists
The night comes with silent drums
Da-dum, da-dum-da-dum
