And you've failed to address the fact that other parts of the bible condone the practice outright (Leviticus 25:44 as an example).

The Bible doesn't agree with you unless you're going to make the argument that these nations, that it was okay to buy slaves from, were filled with volunteers.

Back to the topic though. Why is the way some of these African countries treat LGBT individuals and their sexuality considered a good thing (religion aside)? We're not talking about the African's right to criticize or disapprove of (haha) homosexuality for whatever reason. This isn't even about just discrimination (which is bad enough) or violence (which is a problem too). It's about the criminalization of what goes on between two consenting adults.

Uganda has a law on the books (from the British) that makes it an offense and carries 14 years in prison. That wasn't enough though. At one point, they were talking about life in prison or the death penalty for homosexuality. How is that good or sane?
