Nigeria : NEWS: Nigeria welcomes Chinese investment

How could you possibly know that? Africa is a continent with many many nations..
how do you know what kind of investments folks have in Africa..
in Nigeria..? reach too far to make your point, and you fall over on your face..
I wasn't speaking about "folks" in general. I was talking about people on this board.

How do I know that folks ain't investing in Africa? Simple: When you "invest" in something, you take ownership of it - meaning you have a say so in everything that the "investment" entails. When you're in that kind of position, you don't have to complain about anything you don't like because "money talks and bullsh-t walks" and folks here are just complaining.

AGAIN, you don't know what folks here or nowhere else are invested in. Further, I find it interesting you can lay out such an elaborate and detailed definition of 'investing', yet can't seem to infer the problem with Chinese investment, especially in an industry like tourism--an area replete with stories of exploitation and molestation of the locals. Tourism isn't all bad, but when you have an economy that is heavily or primarily based in it, you are asking for trouble.

What the Chinese are doing isn't really "investing". They're "loaning" money to Nigeria and then sending in their workers to make sure that the loan is used for the exact purpose that it is supposed to be.
