Black Poetry : Make Me Nappy

aka "EFF The Perm"

stand behind me, baby
put your hands
on my neck, you
know the spot
now ease em
up into my kitchen
where you know
it’s good and hot

crook your fingers
around my thick
soft strands
tug em firmly
with your hands

massage my scalp
caress my head
let’s do this standing
up….

instead…

rub my temples
feel the sweat
african pride oil
be soaking wet

dripping
in trails
all down my face
ain’t a bit of dry skin
….any place

make me nappy
baby…
let’s get tangled
in my kinks
you know how
wild I be errytime
my hairdo shrinks

curl me tightly,
sweetie
from my crown
down to my toes…

when it’s kinky
in my kitchen
on the real it’s
“anything goes”

Nice write!

Wow...what a stunning metaphor for sex (I think?)...I mean this has so many multiple meanings for me....which all great poems do....so real, yet so funny and lively....
sorta reminds me of the old time blues....a lot of sexy suggestions there.....Hmmm...I love the raw, sensual wildness there...(in the kitchen, huh)
a phenomenal write, Poetess...

Yes Abstract all of that is up in this heah piece. Alyce has a way of expressing the sensous without being graphic, nasty or profane. She made the way of a woman with her man, a very beautiful and sacred thing. This is a rare skill as it is not easy if metaphors are not your strength and I love every line of it when she writes like this. Being a natural sistah myself, I can truly relate to this all the way down to my toes. HUMPH!
