can you cry for her
tears she can't shed
will you cry for her
for
her unborn child
dead
told she had alternatives
hmh alternatives
tainted her soul
in her wish to unburden her mind
wanting to be let go
she let go
tragedy of her crimes conquered her soul
from the struggle she should have humbly embraced
so she desires sky-like tears
to rain down her face
flowing remorse
cry for them
a cleansing cry
wanting a mascara scarred face
she can only stand shaken
in shock of her deeds
her heart heavy
near breaking her chest
like African drums
can you feel its vibrations
will you?
cry for her
hearts far apart
beating together
cry
for her soul
trapped in hell's weather

But...I’m tired of crying
Tired of that lonely place
Overlooking the happiness we could embrace
Tired of hopeless dreams
Of far away things
And hapless things
From a past I cannot change

May I exchange
Tears of sadness
For the joy they bring

May I encase her mind
With the warmth of a gentler time
When African drums told the tale of her life
The grieving mother
The giving wife
With all the strife one could conceive
To breathe
Life
Into her soul

I’m tired of crying
Tired of lying ‘bout things I did not do
Trying to make up for things that are not true

This is all I can do.

I’ll hold her hand
And help her to stand (on her own)
…to see her through her wrongs
And pray that God puts her on the right path
And hope that His blessings last
Beyond the river of her sorrow
So that TOMORROW
Will shine brightly
For her.

This…I do…willingly
