The first day of the demonstrations in what is now called Egypt
1 Teachers did not teach
2 Children did not go to school
3 No one shoped
4 Civil servants did not work
5 many bankers closed their banks
in lieu of the devestating effect of the Birmingham bus boyoctts,
Black solidarity day , the Monday before Election Day
was proposed back in the 60s as a national action of walk outs and stay home situations to let the white supremist oligarchy know our outrage over opression ,
and make our demands
So far the 2 main sources of GDP in what is known as Egypt have been
pretty much shut down
1 Tourism is now dead, the shop keepers and tour guides are shut down
2 and now the Suez canal, which brings in 5 billion a year, and controls 8 percent of global shipping,
as well as a large amount of oil shipped to Europe
may soon shut down now that workers have said hell no to Mubarak and striked
By 1955 approximately two-thirds of Europe's oil passed through the canal. About 7.5% of world sea trade is carried via the canal today. In 2008, a total of 21,415 vessels passed through the canal and the receipts from the canal totaled $5.381 billion.[55], with the average cost per-ship at roughly $251,000.00.
