I
really
need to get through
to you

I
want to get through
to you

before…

I’m
through
with
you

we
are slipping
fast
losing ground

I want our journey to last

but
the end seems near
and
I’m really scared
frustration breathes in me
disgust creeps in breeding reluctance
to engage in what I once loved
in you

I remember when
enthusiasm came with a mare
thought of you
and
sweet after-thoughts of
our conversations tickled me
into a warm grin

I want that again

between friends

there is a river

this river sing songs of
"i know what i did,"
and
"don't blame this kid,"
but
"i love you,"
is
always
at
hand

they are connected by the river
they are held together by the song the river sings
and everything they go through
the river knows
the river holds
the river never forget
the many moments of happiness
and the timeless bless
that keeps them true

i hear you

i've always heard the song the river sings
when it sings your name
i've heard the daily games
...on the edge of insane
when laughter took hold of you
and all you wanted to do
was to name a few
of the things
bothering you.

i hear you.

friendship never falters
and laughter
doesn't coz pain
and the gains in life
brought you this way
and "everyday" taught you to say
all the things "between us" said
to a place your heartbeat led (you to)
that no one knew
but you.

i hear you.
