This is what happens when you're addicted,
suffering from internal dulusions of sickness...
Never knowing if you're deaf, dumb or blind,
confused and deluded by your very own mind.
I've seen the wise made to fools,
and the ignorant find that they enter new schools.
Schools where all has no time or a season,
where life in itself has no rhyme or no reason.

I could call it madness but it's not,
say it's coldness when it's hot.
say that this is really that...
and that lies are really facts.
I've seen men very highly elated,
and the poor and the dumb become elevated.
I've seen death at its' door,
and seen hearts beat once more.

A jewel like no other,
but a jewel all the same...
at times I'm really lost
as to how it got its name.
Everyone knows it,
and yet they know not at all...
For all become victims
when we once hear its' call...
So say what you like,
scream to god high above,
for we'll all someday find
we're addicted to love.
