Black People : What Ever Happened to the Black Agenda?

We had one in the 30s, with Jim Crow here and colonization everywhere else

We had one in the 60s with only 30 billion av. per year, and no more communications technology then the television, radio, and home wired telephone,
and now that we are catching more hell then in the late 60s

and Jim Crow and colonization are making a slow but steady return;

where is our agenda now?

It's popped up in different incarnations pretty regularly, of course with differing opinions on what that agenda should be.

Off the top of my head, Tavis Smiley comes to mind and his covenant with Black America.

yes and he was dropped into the recycle bin by 40% of us because of his examinations about then candidate Barack Obama

Claud Anderson, Jim Clingman and George Fraser have what I would honestly consider to be the PROPER Black Agenda. That is, economic empowerment, not asking or expecting anything from the government; not marching for "social justice"; not blaming white people for black problems. No, none of that. They simply want to flood this country with Black-owned businesses that hire Black employees and serve Black consumers in Black neighborhoods.

Although Christian from birth, Pentecostal; the NOI was an important part of my childhood and the 60s Brooklyn environment and the term "Do for Self"

and since first grade; looking at that Illustration on "Muhammed Speaks" cover depicting
Africans and African Americans joining hands in economic solidarity, meant alot to me!

I read "Message to the Black Man" at 12, and found it to be sensible and plausible, and the NOI had a certain view of white people, but they did not dwell on that, pity party it or cry and whine

they got up and built edifices of Black business all over Harlem, Queens, Bed Stuy and the Bronx,
that gave 4 star service to working class black folks,
that gave us as children in the 60s and early 70s, great pride to see!
