Black People : POSITIVE ATTRITUBES AND CONTRIBUTIONS THAT WE CAN EXERCISE IN 2010 !!

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Truth!

POSITIVE ATTRITUBES AND CONTRIBUTIONS THAT WE CAN EXERCISE IN 2010 !!

Hello Family

What can WE do to press forward in the year 2010 ?? ( Not your brother, not your sister but YOU ) . We as African People have to keep the focus on our issues, whether it's here in America or anywhere else in the world. There is nothing wrong with putting your race first. This is what meant by a African Centered Consciousness, that your consciousness is based upon, what is best for the race, knowing your history, knowledge of self, how can I help the race, how can I help others to feel and think about the race as I do. Not think as I do, but put OUR PEOPLE FIRST !!

Hear one another, share with one another, and gain from one another. Can we think BLACK instead of owning, westernized conceptions and methods which does us no good ??!! Can we think black instead of fighting about stuff that doesn't even matter or Arguing about another's personal preferences ??

Also most importantly, We belong to the first race of people on the planet and that we are the chosen people. You are the Original Man and Original Woman and that is just a fact. Yet you have people who don't want you to know that or for that matter to learn it. And some of these people sorry to say are people who look like you and me.

You have people who deny the fact that they're African, don't want anything to do with Africa, and Dr Clarke had this saying to them.. "You left your mind in Africa" we can't continue to deny what are, and who we are as a people. It is tantamount of committing mental suicide, what is it to mean, that you accept a slave history in America, and your children are taught slave history in school, as if that’s all we ever been. Yet they're not taught our history in Africa, and don't demand that your children are taught about it in school.

We are combative towards one another because of our training. Yet we give the white man the free pass . Why ?? It's simply easier to combat one another rather then the very system that forced the mental chains.

How do we love one another ?? Where is the room for self correction ?? Who is deem the judge and jury over us personally ?? Do we actually manipulate others to be more like ourselves ?? What's the price that is paid ??

Can we examining OUR methods, techniques, and principles ??

I am a firm believer that we can't correct anybody else but we can correct ourselves. For real growth and progress it starts with us. Here's a mirror per say. Please share ideas, theories, self improvement methods or principles. That perhaps others can ponder and use.

What can I do in 2010 to close the gap ??

btw: I going to list my own self improvement method that I will practice and exercise in 2010 shortly. Have to run to work and I don't want it rushed.

Have a good day

Peace

blkbutterfly41,

Excellent way to extract from us personal conviction toward the goal of unity for our people. I pledge to conform with the following affirmation you suggested above and below:

Peace In my sister friend, its a start...(Oh, I can't wait to read your list!)

i don't understand the response either

With all due respect my brother, Even if what you say is 100 % correct.

How can anything wrong , bad or mis-leading come from sharing ways to better ourselves ??

Thanks and Peace

And there was absolutely nothing wrong, error filled or incorrect in your thesis, synthesis, nor hypothesis.

Hopefully those who have created African centered community centers, in whatever state or city they may be, and have been vested members here for many years,
will post regarding the solutions and how they came about them for the benefit of the readers here, and really
In the spirit of NIA : COLLECTIVE PURPOSE.
and YOUR STATEMENTS OF ENCOURAGEMENT,
FOR THE NEW YEAR

I love our differences, personally. Nor is religion or non religion any means of division with me. But thanks for sharing.

Peace
understanding beloved but your statements moved me to present that as a way to establish cohesion and unity on a board , where it seemed to be going the other way at times, not from you but in general

2010.......one day at a time and rebuild collectively to our full greatness
set religions aside, foolishness aside, and come to a common bond to forward
us into a direction of our past tradition that taught us positive means and how
to be strong, how to prepare ourselves.

Numbers change but the question is, are we ready to change as well ???

Well, Here it goes Brother Clyde.

Please know, This is my way not THE WAY. I usually examine my goals twice a year. Once on my birthday and yes, at the end of the year. I make a small list so I can see my achievements to know I am going in the right direction.

1- Is kinda personal. But I have a partner that is so supportive and unselfish and allows me to be me and do for so many and sometimes it's at his expense. It's deeply appreciated and my children are grown now. I desire to give back some of what he gave me over the years, lovingly.

2- Slow down the pace. Quality not Quantity matters most. I sometimes miss things by racing. I lead a busy lifestyle. Trying to fit all things into one day. Work, Family, And the work I do regularly in the community takes up a lot of my time. I've learned that I must slow down the pace and it's not how many task I am completing that is most important but the quality of the task upon completion that matters most. So only project I will concentrate on is the Oyotunji African Village. The youth groups participation in the African dances and the play for black history month at the village. Everything else is on hold.

3- Reconnect- Reconnecting with my people is very important to me. We 3eep looking for one right or just one wrong. Where as it's so much more in between. Over the years I have not put a lot of my energy in adults just the kids. Simply because adults frustrates me. I've learned how to tune them out and look like I am being attentive. lol

But truth be told, I have to learn to be more tolerable and hospitable to more adults. Because as a life long student. I have grown, learned, and its constant and never ending. Because of a Professor that had faith in me, patience with me. And tolerated me and I was no easy person to teach or reach, But they hung in there and never gave up. So I must pass that blessing on. And the kids are most rewarding but the adults are more challenging. I too must walk the walk and never give up because its harder. So I have to give to them as well. ( As they too will eventually give back ) If we do not invest in us , Who would or should ?? I think we ALL are worthy.

4- Last but not least. Me, me, me !!! lol I do so much for others that sometimes I fail to take better care of me. ( Physically, spiritually, mentally and in all things ) I realize I can't do anything for any body if I am not in tip top shape all across the board.

So 2010 is my year for my personal, spiritual, and overall growth. That will allow me to be MORE loving and more dynamic and make an impact with all those that I love and that means all those that I encounter daily. It starts with ME !!

Perfection lives in no one. Change comes for me, by me. I proudly look in that mirror and make the conscious effort to make personal changes. And if many, many many many blacks do that, I Think we may very well have made an impact.

Love to all in 2010 !! Peace
