I wonder how many of these "people barely able to buy food" have ...

...cell phones?
...smartphones?
...cable TV?
...televisions?
...magazine subscriptions?
...video game consoles?
...purchase fast food?
...other assorted doo-dads?

If a person is barely able to buy food, couldn't you at least grow it, push come to shove?

Minimum wage helps to drive up inflation, but I suspect that this is minimal in comparison to spending on warfare or government spending.
