Black Poetry : Transitions: Death to black (necro-negra-negro)

I am.....
....that brother labeled 3/5's
..that brother hanging out on corners
drinking fifths....I am that
three piece suit wearing
shoes wingged tip three piece...
chicken wing with a bisquit and.....
honey, please...serving behind
plexiglass cause brother's
.....build deaf ears to pulpit
passages and the paths of bullets
I chose not to walk for...
$5.15 an hour, $6.75 in a good
economy...
I am that brother...
anointed death to black...
greek, spanish, American...necro-negra-negro
...I am that African born in America
who even some africans from the...
womb don't claim...I am that brother
who says we are all strugglers
at this global barbecue conducted
by...smugglers...
I am that hue that some
of my hue...can't face /color
struck/ American post-education
mind stuck......mental constructs
some are scared to erase...I am
that man in jeopardy..."Who is
...the real me?"...Answer:
blakverb...............I am that
action "man" word attacking conspiracy
built prophecies...I am the one who
invited "ruth" over for "T" / we
sipped on nine months of essays
by Fanon and Akbar and found
truth in our meaning
I am that brother anointed
death to black...necro-negra-negro
death, to "colored", to mislabel by
european fables....."oh, say can
you see" what I mean...lines of lies
revised to harmonize with our
African children's rhythm that they'll
recite for extra points in class
for participation...but Miss Jones
is sick today...so execution of
indoctrination is delayed...is delayed...
and the children throw paper
airplanes out the window...with dreams
scribed on their wings to see
if they'll come true / too
late for some / eyes contact faded from
brown to blue...straightening comb
straightened thinking has pyramid
blocks shifting like tectonic plates drifting
ramming slamming Michael Jordan surfing
on Africa and sinking the Titanic...
and where were all the black folks?
...did they all die...did they all die
......did I die...Transitions: black to
death....negro-negra-necro

(c)2001 blakverb
