When you say stockpile I dont think of a gallon of diesel. Storage of fuel is still dangerous. I guess one would have to be extra careful with where it is being stored.

It is less dangerous than when supplies lines are disrupted, gas stations are empty, the power is out so electric pumps don't work, and there is no fuel for the general public to acquire.

Knives are dangerous.
Natural gas is dangerous.
Electricity is dangerous.

But, that hasn't stopped anyone from using or acquiring them.

What you speak of is not danger, but risk. Risk can always be mitigated.

If you are concerned about fuels, there is always green tech.
