The Cage Bird Cried
Jacqueline Amos

Why do you cry cage bird?
There is nothing holding you within your cage,
Let thy wings spread an fly away.

I cry not for thy self,
I cry for the love of man,
I cry not for thy space,
I cry for justice for all,
I cry not for my safety,
I am the wings of the lord.

I cry that man restore love upon the world,
I seek not freedom,
but freedom of mankind,
I seek not food,
The food of the earth,
I seek not understanding,
I can fly if I will,
I sit upon the cage,
And wait for thy God.

There is no cage can hold me back.
There is no weapons to take thy life.
I the humble and the meek.
I the voice of spoken words,
Listen as I speak.
I cry not for my self
The paradise of God lies beyond the grounds.
The blinders of earth,
Have blinded the lifeline,
Rebirth I wait for thy almighty
To bring me home.
