Black People : Prostitution: A Career Choice?

Is prostitution harmful to our community?

Was "Superfly" an exploitation film that should have been (or be) protested against?

Recently HBO ran a "documentary" on pimps and prostitutes: "American Pimp." It was reported as a business venture. Is prostitution a profession that should be treated like any other?

Prostitution is harmful to every community. None should want their daughters to be whores, nor should they want their sons dealing in such lewdness.

I never saw it.

No, it should be treated like a degradation, and a act of shame for whoever partakes in it. Granted, I know why some women do it; not all are just seeing it as, "sell my body, I make money, yay!!", but some are in desperate situations for themselves, so they feel it's a desperate measure to take to survive. However, it's still no less shameful as an act, but the person themselves aren't to be judged by people.

And yes, I know some men do this, too. The same applies.

Women already have control of their own body. This is another bad product of the so called "2000 woman" or "Independent woman". Women want too much, know your role and play your part.
If Hillary actually pushes for prostitution to be legal I bet she will win the presidency as a result of it. A lot of guys would love this.
Of course African Americans should worry about this, everyone should. There will be an explosion of teenage pregnancies. A lot of girls from low income families will probably be 'tricking' to get money to live the life they see on Mtv cribs.
The divorce rate will probably go down to from like 50% to like 2% because men will not want to get married. Men will not have to worry about getting divorce and the ex taking half.
No more having to take a woman out and other courting things, just pay a hooker for some quick tail. It is absurd to put a price on a woman's intimacy.
One problem was the glorification of movies like "Super Fly".
Wasn’t “Pretty Woman” regarded as a total disaster by the anti-prostitution lobby so why are WE acting as if this issue is only a problem effecting people of African ethnicity as opposed to everyone?

Marriage is under siege because it has become a very efficient means of unscrupulous people robbing each other, hasn’t it, with even women [who when they have children and their husband is wealthy usually have the upper hand] with their own properties being dispossessed by a partner who never ever intended to make a lifelong commitment, was only after acquiring their assets?

Prostitution is called “the oldest profession” because in various forms it has always been a part of many human cultures but I think what you are concerned about is the current industrialization/commercialisation of this package; whereas isn’t the real engine of prostitution, poverty?

Though in some countries [Thailand comes to mind] whole sections of the poor/uneducated underclass use prostitution to look after their families with some even putting their children forward to abusers, isn’t the poorest thing about many poor people their thinking, but isn’t that a view far easier for us folk who know where our next meal is coming from to think/maintain?

I can think of a particularly stunning looking blond who is now a Barrister whose clients TODAY would not believe what I saw her and an equally stunning looking African Caribbean lady [who now also lives very very comfortably] doing to several men at a stag show here in London over 20 years ago; but were THEY VICTIMS or women using/selling their intimacy to establish financial stability [which they have both done, whereas isn’t the crux of the problem the fact that the majority tend waste their earnings on booze/drugs as they truly don’t have a plan for their lives]?

Isn’t ANYONE who genuinely believes they are not programmed
graphically illustrating that their programming is COMPLETE!

I think we live in a society of whores.. male and female.. whether or not money changes hands has little to nothing to do with it. In the final analysis what really is the difference between prostitution and a sexually promiscuous lifestyle? that said.. it's not something I would want my child or family members participating in but I also don't think the mere fact of it becoming legal would entice them to pursue it either.

all of that said.. if it were legal.. I think you would see just as many male prostitutes as you would female.

Exactly, no difference, just cash exchange.

Yes, you would definitely see just as many; maybe even more.
