Yes i've heard of it , and been part of this day, The NBBD was created
in 1998 by one of the top Radio Dj's Radio syndicate Hall Of Famer
TOM JOYNER and a host of black businessmen the disc jockey THE FLY JOCK
help found this when he saw many black businesses failing he have made
public speeches in Chicago , Atlanta , Detroit , and his hometown Tuskegee, Alabama
for black awareness and support of the inner communities black own businesses
i went to hear him back in 2001 speak about supporting each other allowing the dollars
to market itself back into the black communities of businesses this day was assign
but strongly asked they we continue to support and spend our dollars with our own..

I had the pleasure to shake his hand at that benefit function outside Chicago that
year as one of the new black businesses with a booth of displayed merchandise
and a membership of the NBBD where you can get 40% discount off at any black
Business. another top sponser was the Urban League / Carter's Barber shop /
Insight Media / and a host of others .

    :great:
    Indeed
we should make a practice of supporting our own community on this day and everyday from this day and everyday after. If we start buying from our own regularly and primarily we will encourage eachother to increase businesses, open up more stores, supermarkets, schools, restaurants, etc.... By us For us

If we only knew what is best for "Us"*

    Hotep

The united states department of statistics has determined that Africans in Amerikkka spend over $20 Billion per year on cosmetics alone. In ten years that is...$20BX10Yrs = $200-Billion Dollars mostly given right back to the White Man and White Woman with nothing to show for it except a nice hair-do, shiney white teeth, purfumed and fragrent oders etc. This is beyond pitiful and unexceptable! How much more do "We" spend on other things like food, clothing, cars, jewlery, music, and the worthles things. "This is called Valunter-Slavery and it keeps us broke, busted and discusted with out land, freedom, power, authouity, dignity and all of the other things that a "Wise-Free" people should have. The point is "We" must make sure that any person of color or more spacifictly Africans in America are supported even if we have to go out of our way to get to their places of business. Are we going to do that...not only just for "One" day but every day for the rest of our life?? Then when are we going to exercise real freedom to choose not to support the system of White Superimacy?? When are we going to "Stop Make-ing the Whites and others Rich...and not inrich our own people??

    Ase`

Whew!! Speak Brotha, Speak!! Your message needs to spread throughout the environment of every African-American EVERYDAY - ALL DAY LONG!!!

It's so foolish and futile for Blacks to keep complaining about whites when we're the ones who are giving them so much of the power they have. It's like complaining after you've given a psychotic killer a loaded gun and he's shot you with it.

We've got to BUY BLACK even if it's not always the cheapest, or best quality, and even if it means going out of your way.

what we dont understand is that we can impower each other right now just by dealing with only our own we could put an end to poverty within our community.
