Black Short Stories : In His Madness (Pt. 2)

Baller,

I agree, most people don't spend their time trying to maneuver, deceive and manipulate people on a daily basis to hidden agendas they would like to achieve. They just want to have a normal relationship with a normal person without all the games. Abusers are very skilled in doing that and someone who is not wise or even on that level of manipulation can be easily fooled. But you're right, there are definitely tell-tell signs that eventually surface.

And the most obvious is extreme possessiveness...

Most overlook this, because they believe it denotes...love & concern.

The other obvious one is the abuser wants isolation from family & friends.

because if he/she is isolated from prying eyes and wise advice the person can be easily manipulated without the interference of anyone telling them, there's something wrong with the abuser's behavior. That advice works against their plan to control their potential victim.

And finally the most important sign of all is...RAGE.
.....by the time rage is displayed, the person is pretty much involved intimately with the abuser.

these men can go from extreme rage to pitiful and sorry in minutes...

which usually manifest once the abuser believes they have control of the person.

This tactic is used to maintain that control......with fear.
