Black Poetry : I Am Not Later

I am not later
I am now
Not merely when
life is more convenient anyhow
I exist in this plane
although I may be curious about others
And would probably be more comfortable
in other dimensions if I had my drothers
But
tomorrow is not promised
not even at a minute before midnight
60 seconds is more than enough time
for all that's wrong to overshadow what's right
Maybe I should
Kiss every grain of sand
going through that hour glass
The older I get
The faster time seems to pass
Time is indeed precious
It's not just a noteworthy cliche
Just pondering bout the many years
That have sped past my way
I appreciate what I have accomplished
but I have so much more to do
I'm thinking that being healthy and sage
isn't something your golden years always afford you
If indeed the blessing of advanced age
is mine to behold
Not everyone is so blessed to live long
enough to become old
All the more reason to seize the day
Not tomorrow, but today
Yes, this very day
I am not later
I am now...

I just love your view and vision in your poetry! You bring a new perspective out for me.

I love your reflection and introspection!

*Well, you may not be later but now.

But how about a "Now-Later?" I like the Watermelon!

lol just kidding!*

Fabulous piece, Watz!
