he gets in my face yelling
shouting these obsceneties
using four letter words like fists
crashing through my world
awakening me to the realization
that i don't need you or this
and later when you apologize
why do i smile as i cry
i just went through this
for years upon tears
it was you holding me
through the nightmares and fears
now you wished i'd kill myself and end it all
i'm miserable you say
so you made it better
by reminding me i don't even have you
by reminding me i am the only one
who holds power and control over me
first instinct was to run
but flee my own home again?
and you don't even have squatter's rights?
this here will be no fight
just take whatever you left lying around
and give me back my key
telling me you'll never treat me that way again
second chances are not given here
regardless of what together we hold
no child of mine will ever be told
there mother was left broken
emotionally, financially, spritually
by anyone
i no longer live for me
and never have for you.
