(In dedication to a childhood freind who was recently shot to death and a couple other freinds who met a similiar fate.)

AS the bullet enters the flesh
the mind is not at rest
but sufferin from conditions
as a result of the plight
and sufferin endured
by the ones who came before him.
Freedom did not come
since on the slave can make himself free
the mind and soul are still in shackles and chains
that the ancestors wore on their feet, arms and neck.

As the bullet enters the flesh
you can hear the moans
from the victim as a result
of the bullet
but also
the soulfull pain passed down
from his ancestors
to him while in the womb.

As the bullet enters the flesh
the maze closes up
knowing not where to turn
and not where to learn
ones true place
in the international revolution.

As the bullet enters the flesh
the broken homes become silent
reflecting on the pain
caused by the main
reason for much of his peoples troubles
as youth.

As the bullet enters the flesh
the anger ceases
from the place it came
in the heart of a warrior
without a place to fight
and a people divided
between the churches
on the left
and the right.

As the bullet enters the flesh
the heart stops
the mind stops
the soul continues
and the violence as well.

It will someday cease.

its always a shame when innocent blood has been shed. for what to leave our souls to be empty. because of part of our what we share with loves one seemed to die with them. i enjoyed this very emotional piece as we have to keep on praying that we too must never suffer the same fate. Ikhan i missed you brother hope to see you flowing soon.
