I am a BLACK woman
And I've got my eyes set on the prize
Now, I'm about to break it down
And what I'm saying ain't no lies.

I wasn't born into slavery
But I know what it's like to bound
Heavy burdened and head hung low
Wishing the hands of time could be rewound.

I am a BLACK woman
Heart filled with strength and pride
I am a living witness to that ol' hymn
"I ain't no ways ti'ed."

I may not push a Lexus
Or wear a Rolex on my wrist
But I still have everything I need
And I'm really diggin' my blackness.

I came into this world BLACK
I plan on leaving out the same
Please believe me when I tell you
This really ain't no game.

To be a BLACK woman is one thing
To be a strong BLACK woman is another
I prove my strength in many ways
One, by standing by my BLACK brother.BLACK
