I Sang a Song (Black Woman)
    I sang a song
    Of a strong…black woman
    Naturally curved
    Nice and long…black woman
    Stands five…six feet
“Got it going on” …black woman
    I sang a song
    Of a fine…black woman
    From a deep chocolate
    To a praline…black woman
    A nicely settled
    Genuine…black woman
    Always neat
A “takes her time” …black woman
    I sang a song
    Of this good…black woman
    Supportive and wise
A “does as she should” …black woman
    Would share my pain
    Whenever she could…black woman
    I sang a song
    Of my love for…black women
    Have tried and cried
    Could always depend (on)…black women
    Got sick and tired
But returned to the hood…for black women
    They crushed my head
And broke my soul…those black women
    I gave a sigh
But couldn’t let go of…black women
    I sang this song
    Of my love for you…
    Black woman

    Dear Brother Poet Baller,

This piece is bittersweet. I'm sitting here trying to think of something intelligent to say, but let me just speak from my heart. This piece is beautiful but "Sang", is in the past tense. Please sing for us again. Some of us try our very best but being a black woman comes with hardships and isn't always easy. Yet, we still try to handle ours...while maintaining the black man's respect. This piece touched me. Thank you for sharing.

I THANK YOU for your words.

glad this piece touched you...moved you to words of grief and sorrow.
    though, unjustifiably so
    just so you know...

    Hold your tears, my friend
For my respect, love, and admiration will never end
Nor is the song I sang in anyone’s past tense
For every word said…is forever relevant
    So, I sing your praise
    To all who would listen
    Lifting you up
    To receive your sacred blessings
    In this…one…lesson
    I sing
    I sang
    I sung
    For, in the singing
    A new day had begun
    That says
    You are the one.:)

I sang a song, black woman

A song of hopes and dreams
    And such wonderful things

    I sang a song, of you…black woman

    Hear me.

Dear Brother.... Oh, forget all that!

Baller, sometime ago I told you I would erect a shrine in my heart for you but now my heart is a much warmer and a much more beautiful place. So, what's truly in there for you is a garden complete with all the loveliness nature provides. Please join me on the park bench in the east end where together we can take our friendship to the finish line and beyond. Eternity isn't enough time for me to express my love and respect for you...to you. If this lovely heartfelt poem was meant to stem my tears, its beauty failed sweetly and miserably. The emotions have changed but the tears flow on.

I love you my friend. :hearts1:

    Thank you.

    Heard and received.

Blessings be upon you and yours.

i THANK YOU for reading...and for your words. but 'tis not a poem of sorrow or grief...nor should you weep with sadness. it is a tribute to the strength of the black woman...of the attributes of the black woman...of my love for the black woman.

    the river floweth.

Beautifully expressed, moving slowly and a little sadly through me. Nice.
