Black Entertainment : Artists banned from BET

I feel you, they play the same 10 songs so many times its not even funny. You are always better off buying the cd or whatever instead of going through that torture.

BET is no good!!!

I have long stopped paying attention to BET. First of all they fired Tavis Smiley- even if you don't agree with the man, he keeps issues that are important to the blk. community in the mainstream as much as outlets will allow him to. Second of all, the station has been sold to our caucasion counterparts and that is never in our best interest.

Bet shows the same videos on each show. They have too many video shows as it is. 106 & Park is terrible- they show 1/4 of videos, the host AJ is terrible- Free is a little better with her interviewing but the formatt is awful. Everything abt. the videos are terrible- Rap City? Rap and R&B city- no good!!!

They show news at 11 pm- too late for any children, young adults and most parents to get any information.

They act as if they cannot purchase any shows worth watching- Cosby/Different World (you know he would allow BET to show it in syndication), Living Single, something other than The Parkers and the same movies- Paid In Full, hairshow?etc.....

What is a BET demographic? If they broadened their programming, that would broaden the demographics.

buckshot is a mixtape rapper. They would say that about meth and red cause they dont feel theyre connected to their main audience. and probably cause of that superhead thing that meth gets on this list too

Buckshot is not a "mixtape rapper." He is a founding member of Brooklyn's supper group Bootcamp Clik and Black moon and now runs the Indie label Duckdown Records. Black moon was an integral part, along with Wu, Nas and Big in makinf eastcoast hip hop relevant again after the westcoast explosion of the late 80's and early 90's. By banning rap's legacy, BET is actually insulting young people's intelligence by telling them their history isn't important.
