the cuts in basic government services, not welfare, not handouts, not entitlements but basic government services;

public schools
city colleges
city hospitals
public libraries
civil service employment
headstart
day care
job training
social security
medicaid
medicare
HUD
TAP
Pel grants for college tuitions

will be facing massive cuts from both parties

while bailed out corporations will be partying,
from windfall profitsd from outsoucing and
now; 4 wars

Can anyone visualize the effect these cuts will have on every Black household and
extened family in all 50 states?

When the Dem candidate ran aginst Reagn, we made no plans to protect us from GOP excesses

When the Democratic candidate Al Gore ran against Bush we were full ofhope and failed to
examine or prepare for a worst case scenario

Now we see the repeat of the cuts and craziness that occured under Blue Dawg Clinton, who destroyed Glass Staegal and signed away millions of Black union jobs with,
GATT and NAFTA.

hundreds of thousands of Black families will now wonder how to pay their bills, now that the unemploymenrt extension received no bail out,
no bail out for foreclosure releif

Now when and if they destroy Medicaid, and Medicare and mess with SS

What do we have in place to provide for millions of Black elderly?

Now when and if they destroy welfare from state to state which will not just hurt the poor, but those just mentioned who have welfare as their only recourse after being , refused a bailout for their unemployment insurance

What do we have in place to provide for hundreds of thousands of African Amrican families

The Nguzo Saba is the simplest most basic aspect of Black Nationalism

itis not just for one day out of the year, Kwanzaa on December 26

but it is a principle of assurance and insurance to take us into the next century

It is not the only plan , but if it is a plan that works and has elemets that can and will establish cross national saftey nets

why not re-examine it?
If we fail to plan we plan to fail.

Who will provide the pool of assets and funds from which reimbursements can be drawn?

What will be done with the pool of assets and funds that have not been dispersed?

Who shall and shall not be the policy holders?
Who shall be its trustees and administrators?

It is funny that you typed those words .... modern day insurance has its origin in fire insurance.

I have my own biased opinions on insurance, but shall reserve those for another day.

Let it suffice to say that before there is anything to insure, one must have property first in my opinion.
