Black Entertainment : why i don't like tyler perry

funny I always thought that Spike Lee's films were more theater style. Especially his early work,he uses monologues fequently. However his latest work seems to be more film oriented,Miricale at Saint Ana was excellent. Theater is about over the top performance,"Going Big" where film is more sublte facial expressions,eye movement,and inner motivation. I do appreciate Tyle Perry's postive messages,although he has some issues as you said.

yeah, Spike's love for theater is all over his work.. but whatever he does is always
also cinematic.. he makes full use of the camera.. Spike is as much a cinematographer
as he is a director. His signature shots pushed the envelope of modern american
film. Crooklyn for example was a masterpiece.. it was filled with masterful
shots.. spike has mastered the art of visual story telling.. and the alignment
of his camera technique, music and story content make him a great filmmaker.
Tyler is all story. I wondered how he would make transition to film since his
plays were all musicals.. but he has done pretty well.. all things considered.
I don't know why he doesn't just breakout with a black gospel themed
musical. I still hope these two guys find a way to get together and do
something important. Each of their strengths line up perfectly with the other's
weaknesses.. they could really do something great.
