Greetings Family!

Years ago, I was heavily exposed to unjustice practices related to African coffee bean farmers. Then later, I saw a National Geographic story on the background of coffee farming in Ethiopia and the trading negotioations they ensue with many obstacles to sustaining sufficient income to support their families as well as their crop. Many farmers are forced to make hard decisions to rip away their bean crop and grow other cash crops, many of which are illegal. In this story, I learned of the many coporate giants, such as Starbucks, who have continued to widen the gap of unfair trading and trademarks, which grew into a dispute lasting years.

After reading the thread on Starbucks by Sister Destee:heart: , http://destee.com/index.php?threads/starbucks-will-stop-using-crushed-bugs-in-their-drinks.71638/ it sparked my curiosity to find out the current position of the Ethiopian coffee farmers and their dispute with Starbucks.

The following stories reveal not much progress has transpired and these farmers are still not reaping their dues. These developments have really pushed me to STOP purchasing products from Starbucks and I emplore you all to do likewise.

Love yall!!!

Thanks. Already don't drink from Starbucks, but it's worth passing along.

Thank you ABSiblings, and you'll be intrigued to know that this problem doesn't just lie with coffee giants, I learned that another big company contributing to the unjustice is Nestle! I'll have to track down the list of companies and update the thread.

Thanks for passing it along!

Blessings!
