I don’t understand the question

I know what it is to feel thirsty
i even know what it is not to breathe
but i have no idea what it is not to love you
I will admit i’ve never tried
but i don’t believe it’s even possible
not to love you
please do not reach for that explanation
to explain my silence and/or aloofness
you may ponder upon other things
and wonder seriously if they are afoot
but not loving you
