Black Poetry : Love, By All Means (Taking The Risk)

[hadassah]

They say I love dangerously
I say there is nothing safe
about loving ~

We were born with
the basic need
to satisfy our
*"touch glands"

(*"dassah-ism")

and studies have shown
new babies, unwanted
untouched...
do not thrive &
soon die

"touch starved" ~

I do declare that
loving someone against
all odds, and "better" judgment
can have some dangerous
repercussions...

like ~ open heart surgery
or....blood transfusions
or even organ transplants

risky **** we do to
improve our quality
of life...

all could end in complications,
rejection...complete
failure

I choose to live/love on the edge
this way....reaching out
in space toward what I seek
to learn about my lover
...by faith

I will leap, heart/mind/body first
with an eye toward fine-tuning
my understanding of the love 'embrace'

taking the risk ~

chances are, we will increase our
'love expectancies' & cause
another heart to smile

loving~good can either fill a lifetime

or work the HEYELL out of "a little while"

Poeticdelight ~ I thank you for sharing Scripture ~ I appreciate that one most definitely...surely you are speaking str8 to the Deaconess Board here...I believe what the Word says about LOVE.... just presenting another perspective...but my top & bottom line is the same..."love, by ALL means"....
