You were more than a breath of fresh air
You touched my soul
You fed my spirit
You made me whole
Then you broke me
You fed me lies
You crushed my heart
You made me cry
You cast me away
You weren't moved by my tears
You called me a curse
And inspired all my fears
Yet love remains
But I'm in pain
The sun won't shine
In this rain
But give it time
And soon you'll see
A flower will bud
Deep within me
The girl you left
Will be a beautiful woman
Bright like the sun
Strong like a diamond
Heart full of love
Many she'll carry
But only for one
Will she tarry
Is it then
That she'll be of value?
Will she then
Be the one for you?
If not,
It'll be a shame
For there is no one better
To bare your name
But I won't cry
Or break the mold
'Cause God only places His diamonds
In hearts of gold
