many of us...

are BLESSED with differences that DON'T measure up to someone elses standard...but that's not my standard. as i look deep down into the depths of ME i realize that, hey, i love self deeply. if they don't...that's their loss.

Man, the words strike deep as the sea here, and reveals all the dark secrets that has lain hidden in the abyss of low self worth and esteem based on what others have deemed us to be or not to be, based on the established norm. I remember this piece well, because of the compassion and feeling it conveys. The revision is just as compassionate, and flows forth like a river breaking through a dam that has long held it at bay.

I love the entire piece, from start to finish, but my absolute favorite is the ending: joy
the earth is cruel with perfect people...& no one anywhere
seems to really care

I can feel your angst being defeated once and forever like a vanquished foe. Poetry, like music, conquers the beasts, destroys the demons, obliterates the ghosts that haunt our souls. You speak of things unuttered by many. Your writing is a balm which can heal the multitudes.

This piece moved me in cemented places...a most brilliant, thought provoking piece of poetry in my humble opinion
